The New "Must-Have" Accessories For Luxury Homes.

One of my favourite hobbies is visiting Home Opens as a way of “researching” layouts, trends, fittings and finishes and just really getting inspiration. One thing I’ve noticed is a changing of the tides in terms of what’s hot in luxury residential homes.

Here’s my top ten must have items for luxury homes.

Infinity or Wrap Around Pool

Just like you’d expect to see at any 6 star hotel, infinity and wrap around pools are growing in popularity with many custom designs including built in furniture, lounges and swim up bars.

High-End Kitchens

Luxury homes often feature gourmet kitchens with high end appliances, Brands such as Miele, Sub-Zero, Wolf, Gaggenau, ILVE & Falcon take top billing.

Hotel-Style Bathrooms

Master bathrooms in luxury homes are often designed as spa retreats, featuring natural stone finishes, oversized showers, freestanding tubs, heated floors, and luxurious fixtures. Think finishes such as marble, quartz, granite, onyx. Features such as stone baths, smart technology and designer fixtures such as built in toilet suites and rainfall shower heads.

Multi-Car Garages

A double garage really won’t cut it when it comes to luxury homes. We are looking for someone to store our vintage car collection. And be sure to include a charging station for the Tesla.

Large Outdoor Entertaining Spaces

Luxury homes nearly always have an expansive outdoor area with dedicated kitchen, a fireplace or firepit and an abundance of lounge and dining seating. These rooms generally seek to take advantage of city, water or panoramic views and showcase the homes best assets. Built in Pizza ovens and wood smokers are also growing in popularity.

Fitness and Wellness Spaces

Post pandemic we are all looking for ways to improve our overall health and wellbeing. Many luxury homes now include gyms, yoga studios, basketball or tennis courts. But the biggest trend is Infa-red saunas! They are hot property right now due to the associated health benefits.

Wine Cellars & Tasting Rooms

Wine

Temperature-controlled wine cellars or wine rooms are a favourite feature among wine enthusiasts. Some luxury homes have dedicated wine tasting rooms for entertaining guests.
